學習目標
1.By taking one of the three required courses at level one, students are to master the texts and contexts of English, American and European Literature and Culture in order to build a foundation for the requirement of the capstone course. 2.By taking three of the listed selective courses which focus on Romanticism, which is the convergent point of the modern Anglo-American European literature and culture, students learn to identify an expansive historical framework and to assess the vibrant cultural connections among Anglo-American and European languages and literatures. They will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the core strength of our department, which will enable them to formulate a view for humanity’s shared future. 3.Building upon what they have learned from the courses offered in the previous two levels, students are to comprehend and evaluate the connections between literature and arts. They are to produce a research paper in English on a chosen topic. They could also decide to participate in a group project, such as curating an exhibition and write a report in English that fulfils academic requirements. They need to consult with the instructor of the capstone course on both the topic and form of their research or practical result.
