1. The work of a theater director is extremely complex. In addition to knowing how to analyze scripts and guide actor rehearsals, more importantly, it involves how to integrate all theatrical elements, including stage design, lighting, costumes, projections, and music. Level 1 "Introduction to Directing" (or "Basic Directing") focuses on cultivating directing skills, guiding students from stage composition and text analysis to actually directing a scene. "Methods and Practice of Dramaturgy" is designed to help directors understand script structures, the functions of scenes, and how to conduct background research and organization.<br><br>2. The four courses in Level 3 provide in-depth exploration and practice targeting different dramatic forms and styles. Students can choose any two according to their interests to better master the direction of those specific types of drama and enhance their directing knowledge and skills.<br><br>3. Students are requested to take courses in sequential order by Level. Most courses require an audition for enrollment; please refer to the remarks section on the NTU Course website for audition instructions.<br><br>4. Students wishing to take directing courses at Level 2 and above must first complete "Directing (I)." Prior to auditioning for "Directing (I)," students must have completed "Stage Design (I)," "Lighting Design(I)," or "Costume Design (I)."
