1. This module focuses on two major acting research directions: Realistic Acting and Stylized Acting. These two directions are not mutually exclusive, and certain courses possess cross-directional qualities. Students may select a primary direction based on their personal interests while expanding their acting capabilities through cross-directional courses.<br><br>2. Please take courses in sequential order by Level. All courses at Level 2 and above require an audition/selection process for enrollment; please refer to the course notes on the NTU Course Website for selection details.<br><br>3. Level 1 foundational courses are cross-directional in nature; both “Acting (I)” and “Rehearsal (I)” serve as foundational acting courses:<br><br>‧ “Acting (I)” focuses on developing the actor's own performance capabilities, establishing core abilities spanning from context, character, and relationship to action.<br><br>‧ “Rehearsal (I)” focuses on developing tools for voice, movement, and performance, establishing the essential techniques and working methods required for actors entering the rehearsal space.<br><br>4. Students who choose the Realistic Acting direction are recommended to take the following at Level 2:<br><br>‧ Acting (II) <br>‧ Experiment for Body Language and Movement <br>‧ Improvisation: Objective Training<br><br>Students who choose the Stylized Acting direction are recommended to take the following at Level 2:<br><br>‧ Improvisation: Objective Training<br>‧ Physical Movement: Creative Lab<br>‧ Musical vocal training<br><br>5. All courses at Level 3 have prerequisites; please check the "Course Restrictions/Prerequisites" section on the NTU Course Website.<br><br>‧ Realistic Acting recommended courses: “Acting (III),” “Seminar in Acting: Psychophysical Training (II),” and “Improvisation: Character Development.”<br><br>‧ Stylized Acting recommended courses: “Improvisation: Character Development” and “Musical Vocal Training and Performing Art (II).”<br><br>6. Level 4 consists of capstone courses:<br><br>‧ Realistic Acting recommended courses: “Performing Shakespeare's Monologues” and “Movement and Body.”<br><br>‧ Stylized Acting recommended courses: “Movement and Body,” “Dance Technique and Methology,” “Voice Creativity and Collective Practice,” and “Performing Shakespeare's Monologues.”
