1. Given that theatrical lighting design practice can be applied across diverse domains, each pathway enables students to integrate acquired knowledge and accumulate practical experience. Accordingly, this Level 4 module offers multiple specialized courses, allowing students to pursue the direction that most closely aligns with their interests. The courses are as follows:<br><br>(1) Special Topics on Lighting Design <br>This course investigates lighting design for non-dramatic performance genres such as dance, visual arts, and environmental theatre. It trains lighting designers to assume the role of a narrative agent, employing the vocabulary of light to interpret story content. Students will learn to collaborate with performers across varied artistic forms to construct a visual narrative.<br><br>(2) Digital Simulation Moving Lighting Design<br>Computer-controlled lighting has become one of the most prevalent and powerful technologies in contemporary practice, though its equipment is costly and complex to install. By utilizing virtual lighting design software and console-integrated 3D simulation tools, students gain extended opportunities to practice independently, developing proficiency in employing computer lighting to realize performance designs.<br><br>(3) Theatre Lighting Practical Training <br>This course immerses students in the collaborative processes of a production, engaging with multiple departments from conceptual design through technical execution. It provides comprehensive training that reveals the complexity of theatrical production while fostering an understanding of one’s professional role within the theatre environment.<br><br>2. It is recommended that students follow the sequential Level structure. Most courses at Level 2 and above require selection through an application process.
