課程架構

修課指引
The Area Studies curriculum begins with a foundational sequence—International Relations I and II—that equips students with the core concepts and analytical baselines for regional inquiry. Building on this base, the core stage asks students to select two courses that foreground major regional issues and related theories, thereby consolidating the competencies needed for area-focused analysis; the options are Republic of China Foreign Relations, PRC Diplomacy, and Foreign Policy and Decision-Making. Students then deepen their expertise through two themed seminars chosen from Cross-Strait Relations, Regionalization and Area Studies, International Relations Theory and PRC Diplomacy, Southeast Asian International Relations, and Modern Japan in International Relations. These discussion-centered seminars reinforce and extend the core by linking concepts to comparative regional cases and research debates. The final tier emphasizes methods and cross-disciplinary application, strengthening students’ ability to combine diverse social-science techniques with knowledge from outside political science to analyze regional affairs; students choose either Research and Writing or Experimental Methods in Political Science. Each course carries two credits, for a total of fourteen credits.
