學習目標
1. Students can analyze the individual and genetic structure, population and community ecology, and plant-animal interactions of forest organisms in experimental or field survey contexts and explicitly explain their roles in the ecosystem. 2. Students can integrate biological information at various levels and connect knowledge of forest environments and management, using simulations or real-world cases to plan and design ecological system models, including conservation or restoration strategies. 3. Students can engage in cutting-edge and modern research in forest science, participating in domestic and international academic exchanges to share results and innovative contributions.

修課指引
This module is centered on the biology group of the department, consisting of five courses totaling 15 credits, as shown in Figure 1. The course descriptions are as follows:
1. Introduction to Forest Ecology and Silviculture: This is an introductory course covering basic forest ecology, tree species and tree characteristics, stand structure, conservation, biodiversity, seed production, nursery management, breeding, stand tending, and forest ecological restoration and afforestation.
2. Introductory Biodiversity: This is a foundational theoretical course that introduces the concepts, phenomena, theories, values, and management of biodiversity. The course is divided into three parts.
3. Dendrology and Practice: This methodological course focuses on tree identification and dendrology, fundamental to forestry studies and essential knowledge for forest science students.
4. Silviculture: This practical application course focuses on managing forest species for biodiversity or economic use. It emphasizes understanding the characteristics of tree species and the conditions of their habitats, selecting the most suitable species based on regional economic needs, and determining the optimal silvicultural practices to achieve forestry goals.
5. Forest Ecology: This is a practical application course that covers physiological ecology, population ecology, community ecology, systems ecology, and landscape ecology, discussing the relationship between ecology and forest management.
