學習目標
1. Students will be able to explain the fundamental knowledge and physical and chemical properties of wood-based materials.
2. Students can provide examples of wood-based biomaterial materials, explaining their raw materials, processing methods, product characteristics, and suitable applications.
3. Students will be able to summarize wood composites' bonding principles and standard adhesives' types and properties.
4. Students will understand and apply the basic principles, design concepts, and production processes of wood-based biomaterial materials, equipping them with the capability to obtain the "Entry-Level Composite Materials Engineer" certification.

605005-生物複合材料研發<br><br>This module focuses on researching and developing wood-based biomaterial materials, material science, and technology, comprising five courses totaling 15 credits, as outlined in Figure 1. The integrated description is as follows:<br>1. Foundational Courses: Forest Products <br>This foundational course provides a comprehensive introduction to wood-based biomaterials. It aims to help students understand the formation processes, characteristics of biomaterials, and the properties of products derived through processing technologies.<br>2. Theoretical Courses: Wood Anatomy and Lab, Wood Physics and Lab<br>These two theoretical courses, combining lectures and practical exercises, offer an in-depth introduction to the internal structural formation of wood-based biomaterials, their various physical properties, and mechanical performance. The goal is to strengthen students' understanding of the characteristics of wood-based biomaterials, laying a solid theoretical foundation for their processing and utilization of biomaterial materials.<br>3. Methodological Courses: Wood Adhesives and Composites<br>This course introduces the processing technologies of wood-based biomaterial materials and commonly used raw materials and formulations. Through practical exercises, students gain a preliminary understanding of biocomposite manufacturing techniques.<br>4. Capstone Course: Biocomposite Material Science<br>Serving as the culminating course, this subject delves deeper into the theoretical framework of composite materials. It extends into advanced topics, including various composite material processing technologies, structural analysis, mechanical behavior, and failure characteristics of different composites. Additionally, it incorporates material mechanics perspectives to design composite materials, preparing students with the advanced knowledge required for further study.
