The learning objective set for this specialized field is to enhance undergraduate students’ literacy in data science and algorithm implementation, solidify the foundation, and further expand their horizons. The goal is to acquire the ability for independent exploration, development, and innovation in the field of data science. To achieve this goal, the department has planned this specialized field, encompassing five courses to help students progress systematically. After learning the basic knowledge of data science and computer programming, students can further explore the algorithm design and application implementation of machine learning and deep learning through advanced courses. Upon implementation, this specialized field is expected to increase the department students’ commitment to the data science, computer science, and mathematical analysis fields, and enhance students’ interest in the artificial intelligence field. Early performance evaluation indicators will include student choices in graduate research groups, specialized research topics, and post-graduation employment.
