學習目標
This specialization integrates courses related to semiconductor materials, solid-state foundations, material properties, and device applications, enabling students to develop a systematic understanding of semiconductor materials and device science during their undergraduate studies. It further helps students connect foundational knowledge with chip technologies and emerging applications, thereby building a strong foundation for advanced study and interdisciplinary applications.<br>Upon completion of this specialization, students are expected to attain the following three core competencies:<br>1) Objective 1: Ability to explain the fundamental principles of semiconductor materials and solid-state science<br>Students will be able to explain the basic structures, bonding, band concepts, and solid-state principles of semiconductor materials, and understand the relationships between material properties and functions. Through relevant coursework, students will develop a systematic understanding of the scientific foundations of semiconductor materials and solid-state principles, which serves as an important basis for understanding device behavior and semiconductor technology applications.<br>2) Objective 2: Ability to analyze the relationship between material properties and device functions<br>Students will be able to analyze the structural and electronic properties of semiconductor materials and understand how these properties influence device design, device behavior, and semiconductor technology applications. Through training that connects microscopic material characteristics with functional performance, students will gradually develop the ability to extend their understanding from materials science fundamentals to device-related functions.<br>3) Objective 3: Ability to integrate foundational materials knowledge with emerging semiconductor applications<br>Students will be able to integrate knowledge of semiconductor materials, solid-state science, and device-related concepts, and to explain and analyze their significance in emerging chip technologies, semiconductor industry development, and application contexts. Through the capstone course and related coursework, students will further extend their foundational knowledge toward a broader understanding of emerging technologies and application contexts, thereby developing the ability to connect scientific foundations with advanced semiconductor applications.
