學習目標
We expect students who take this module could have trainings to understand/interpret evidence of Earth’s climate histories and have the scope to carry on research in this field. This module emphasizes the link between climate/ocean/geo sciences to industry (through geological perspective), to climate change consultancy, to green engineering. For those interested in research, this module will help build a strong foundation for them to carry out research in diverse fields of climate change/geosciences as well.

This module contains 8 courses with 11-13 credits and separates into 3 levels as below: Level 1 Group A (select 2) Introduction to Physical Oceanography (credit 1) Introduction to Marine Biology (credit 1) Introduction to Marine Geology (credit 1) Introduction to Marine Chemistry (credit 1) Group B (mandatory) Observing the marine environment (Haojia Abby Ren, credit 2) Level 2 Introduction to Paleoceanography (Haojia Abby Ren & Li Lo, credit 3) Understanding climate change (Haojia Abby Ren & Sze Ling Ho, credit 2) Level 3 Regional Paleoceanography (Ludvig Löwemark & Li Lo, credit 3) This module is open to all students who have taken Geochemistry (+Lab), Earth History + Lab, or other related courses.
